This is the layout that is being submitted to Burning Man tonight for our camp registration.

rental van

best deal I found yet is Uhaul 17' van for $30/day, .60 cents per mile. it's 760 miles round trip. A Ten day rental (giving us three days to set up camp) without taking into account gas or insurance (10mpg, don't know insurance costs yet) would be about $800. I think that's what we paid for the van last year with insurance but without gas. That means that a Uhaul van is probably the best deal, because the family van we took last year had zero cargo room. I have one reserved under my name here in Eugene.

we just finished the third dome for the seminar
It has about a 16-18 foot radius and is constructed of twenty bamboo poles, hemp twine and ten rebar stakes. It looks like this drawing only it is covered with a parachute and in Andy and Ryan and Jack's backyard. Much hooka fun was had tonight.

dome building

Mike and I are meeting Sunday afternoon at his house near the river for a dome building session.
This will be the first Eugene dome session.
I want to build a small dome with bamboo and figure out
some schemes for the fly's eye dome.
Grab any bamboo you see lying around and we can store it in our back yard.
Meals for the camp are good. Breakfast burritos are good.
If you see any water jugs or non-perishable ingredients
for a meal, grab em up.

Psyche: the theme of this year's Burning Man

This year's theme explores psychology: self-expression, self-reflection and the unconscious power of dreams. For this purpose, we'll divide a portion of the playa into zones, each relating to a different region of the mind.

The Man will stand atop a circus tent which covers a maze. When you get through the maze you climb upward to the base of the The Man who can be swiveled around in a circle by physical force. Leading out beyond The Man is a lighted path to a giant, submerged head which will be a venue for the fire arts. Beyond that lies the Temple of Dreams.
